HIGH SCHOOL: Leslie was a three-time all-state performer in track & field at Western Branch High School, achieving that status from 2000-02...She helped WBHS claim a Class AAA state championship on the oval in 2002 and district titles her first three years there...Earning four letters in track and field, she was chosen as team captain for two of those seasons...In 2003, Leslie finished second and posted the fourth-fastest 500m readout in the U.S. when she uncorked a 1:13.92 at the state indoor gathering...During the outdoor portion of the schedule, she was victorious in the 800m at the Mobile (Ala.) Challenge of Champions...Leslie also ascended to the top rung of the podium at the Virginia state outdoor meet, winning the title in 2:10.06 and helping her school to a sixth-place finish...Notched her prep career best in the 800m at the adidas Outdoor Classic in June of 2003, cranking out a 2:09.28 clocking to place fourth...Leslie had previously possessed a best time of 2:09.38 in the 800, which she recorded as a freshman when she posted a runner-up finish at the state meet...During that weekend, she beat future Lady Vol teammate Nicole Cook twice and was narrowly the runner-up to Nikeya Green, who would go on to become an All-American at Wake Forest...For her performance in that event in 2000, Leslie was named an All-American by American Track & Field magazine...She suffered a major setback in late 2000, however, when she injured her knee playing basketball...After working to come back during the 2001 campaign, she pronounced herself healed with a runner-up state meet performance in 2002...She would later finish fourth in the 800m at the prestigious Golden West Invitational...In addition to her exploits on the oval, Leslie captained the basketball squad three of the four seasons she played...She helped guide Western Branch to a district hoops tourney crown in 2000...For her hoops prowess, she was named a Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-American...Also successful in the classroom, Leslie was a four-year member of the honor roll...
PERSONAL: Leslie is majoring in exercise science...The daughter of a pair of physicians, who both attended Tennessee, she is interested in possibly pursuing a career in physical therapy...She has three siblings: Annyce, 30; Bobby, 24; and John, 18...Leslie E. Treherne was born in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 1, 1985...Her parents are Drs. Robert and Katherine Treherne.
