2001:
Sharon battled shin problems for most of the year and, in fact, had to wait until meet number two to make her 2001 debut…It proved to be a smashing success, as she rolled to victory at the Commodore Invitational, triumphing over 233 other runners in 18:05…The next time out, Sharon was almost as impressive, taking fourth in a field of 241 with a 16:57.08 reading at the Auburn Invitational…At the 6K Furman Invitational, against a national-caliber field of 246 competitors, Sharon stacked up pretty favorably, registering a 38th-place result in 21:55…Then, Sharon aimed for, and successfully achieved, All-Southeastern Conference status for the third time in her career, traversing the 6K path in 19:36.28 to place third and tie the effort she produced as a redshirt sophomore…Her performance helped UT finish second, its best placing since 1990…Even with the aching legs, Sharon continued to impress at the NCAA South Regional, etching a 6K readout of 21:26.71 into the books, securing sixth place and earning a spot on the all-region squad for the third occasion…That outcome earned her an at-large invitation to the 6K NCAA Championships in Greenville, S.C…Making her third career appearance at the meet, Sharon's hurting legs clearly weren't up to the task…Despite a valiant effort, she finished 136th out of 249 runners in a time of 22:27 and would have to wait until 2002 to pursue a second All-America citation…However, she takes an impressive streak into her senior campaign…Since Nov. 23, 1998, when she was UT's top runner at the NCAA Championships as a freshman, Sharon has been the Lady Vols' first scorer each time she has lined up with the team…The skein is 12 and counting…In recognition for her junior season, she was chosen UT's Cross Country Athlete of the Year for the second-straight time…Academically, she elicited a slot on the Lady Vol Honor Roll for the second occasion…

2000:
Sharon had a standout campaign…She earned All-America honors with a 29th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Ames, Iowa…Won NCAA South Region Athlete of the Year honors after capturing the regional race to qualify for the national championship meet…Was named to the All-SEC team for the second time in her career after she finished third at the conference meet in a time of 20:47.15…Won the NCAA South Regional on the same course with a time of 20:38.79…Ran a clocking of 21:21.8 at the NCAA meet despite wind chills of 17 below zero…Was Tennessee's No. 1 runner throughout the season…Won the UT Invitational for her first career title with a mark of 17:54.59…Also finished fifth at the Lakefront Invitational with a time of 21:40 in a field of 496 runners…Took third at the Furman Invitational in 17:44 at the site of the 2001 NCAA meet…Was chosen as Lady Vol Cross Country Athlete of the Year…

Made an immediate impact on the squad, taking second overall (18:03) at the Western Carolina Invitational in her first collegiate meet…Finished in first or second place in every meet in the Lady Vols' team standings except at the UT Invitational, where she finished in fourth position…Earned All-SEC honors by finishing seventh overall at the SEC Championships with a clocking of 17:41.65…Sharon secured All-South Region accolades by taking 12th position with a time of 17:38.86…Recorded the team's fastest time of the year in 17:19.27 at Southern Illinois…

HIGH SCHOOL:
Sharon earned all-state honors for the 1994, 1997 and 1998 Grand Blanc High School cross country teams…A four-year letterwinner and team captain for cross country and track and field in her junior and senior years…Won 3200 meters in 1998 indoor state track meet…All-state track in '97 and '98…Led cross country team to Big 9 Championship in 1994 and track and field team to Big 9 Championships in '95, '96 and '98 as well as a 1997 Regional Championship…
