ROB PATRICK ON CHEADE: "Carol was afforded a tremendous opportunity this spring, as she was able to take every practice rep with our starters. She has worked extremely hard on becoming a more consistent blocker, and I am very encouraged by her development. She has always had a nice, natural arm
swing, which provides us with some options
offensively for her, as she can play either in
the middle or on the right side. As a senior,
nothing is going to bother her, and she can
be a calming force on the court."
2008 (JUNIOR): Played in 10 matches
during her junior campaign, finishing the
year with seven kills on 18 attacks, seven
blocks and six digs...Collected kills against
Houston, Iowa, Virginia, Auburn and ETSU...
Tied a career high with a pair of digs against
the Hawkeyes...Also had two blocks in that
contest...Earned her first start of the season
and third of her career against Auburn on
Oct. 3...Made the most of the opportunity
with a pair of kills and career-high tying
totals of two digs and four blocks...Started
her second contest of the year at ETSU,
recording two kills on five swings, a dig and
the first solo block of her career...Following
the season, she earned a spot on the SEC
Fall Academic Honor Roll for the third
consecutive year.
2007 (SOPHOMORE): Saw action in 16
matches during her sophomore campaign...
Participated in two matches and four games
at the Comcast Lady Vol Classic...Tallied a pair
of kills on three attacks against Appalachian State...Also recorded the third ace of her career in that contest...Saw limited action
against Marquette at the State Farm Illini
Classic, finishing off the third game with a kill
on her lone swing of the match...Registered
her first block of the 2007 campaign against
Mississippi State...Saw time against both
Auburn and Georgia on the road, Sept. 21
and 23, respectively, and at home against
Arkansas, Sept. 30...Collected a seasonhigh
with a pair of blocks against Ole Miss...
Repeated the performance five days later
at Mississippi State on Oct. 19...Earned her
first starting nod of the season and second
of her career at Arkansas on Nov. 16...Set
season highs with six kills, 14 attempts,
one assist, three total blocks and one dig
in that match...Was named to the SEC Fall
Academic Honor Roll for the second time in
her career.

during her rookie season at Tennessee,
earning her first career start against Lehigh
on Sept. 9...Tallied eight kills in 13 attacks
and had no attack errors in that match
for a team-high .615 hitting percentage...
Recorded a career-high four blocks against
Centenary on Aug. 26 and repeated the
feat on Oct. 11 at Kentucky...Hit .375 with
four kills and one error in eight attempts at
Georgia on Nov. 10...Was tabbed to the SEC
Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Instituto Abel in
Niteroi, Brazil...Competed with the Flamengo
and Botafogo volleyball teams...Won both
state and national championships during
her tenure on those teams.

her highest ambition in sports as winning
a National Championship...Winning the
Brazilian national championship with her
club team ranks as her biggest thrill in
sports...Enjoys going to the beach, watching
movies, traveling and being with friends
and family during her time away from the
court...Chose Tennessee because of its
excellence in academics and athletics...
