Saw action in 26 sets over the course of 11 matches during her freshman campaign...Made her collegiate debut in UT's season opener against Tennessee Tech on Aug. 29...Has also seen time on the court at North Carolina (9/11), at home against Marshall (9/12) and at Mississippi State (10/18)....Tallied the first two digs of her career in two sets of action at Auburn on Nov. 13...Played in all five frames of UT's 3-2 victory at Georgia later that weekend, collecting one dig....Added another scoop against No. 13 Florida on Nov. 20 as the Lady Vols won in four sets...Picked up a career-high five digs two days later in UT's 3-0 sweep of South Carolina...Collected one scoop against No. 10 Kentucky in the final match of the regular season and two versus Duke in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament...Was tabbed to the 2009 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll for her tremendous efforts in the classroom.

Was a multi-sport star at Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga...Lettered all four years in volleyball, track and basketball...Was the captain of the volleyball and basketball teams as a senior...Played at the setter and outside hitter positions for the Bruisers volleyball team...Led the squad to back-to-back Division II-AA state titles during her junior and senior seasons, earning all-tournament team honors in 2007 and most valuable player accolades in 2008...During her senior season, Brown recorded 1,186 assists, 617 digs, 418 kills, 111 blocks and 108 service aces en route to highest honorable mention designation on PrepVolleyball.com's high school All-America team...Was also a standout performer for the GPS track team...As a senior, she claimed the Division II triple-jump title, finished second in the state in the pentathlon and earned third and fifth-place finishes in the 100m and 300m hurdle events...Also performed well in the classroom...Was a member of the National Honor Society and the Headmaster's List (4.0 GPA)...Participated in the African American Alliance, Key Club, FCA and was a Changes and Choices leader.
