Experience:
1st season

In his first season with the Lady Vols, Philip Bennett will serve as the volunteer assistant coach. His primary responsibilities include assisting with the facilitation of practice, editing game video and compiling statistics.

The Knoxville, Tenn., native spent the 2007 campaign as an assistant coach at Carson-Newman where he worked with the Eagles' middle blockers. As a team, Carson-Newman finished the year as the best blocking team in NCAA Division II and earned a spot in the South Atlantic Conference championship match. While in Jefferson City, Bennett also directed the East Tennessee Advance Volleyball Club.

Bennett earned a degree in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2006 where he worked as a manager for the volleyball team for three years. While in Lexington, Bennett also served as a setter for the men's volleyball club team.

Philip and wife Jessica reside in Knoxville with their two-year old daughter, Cadence.
