HAVANA, Cuba. -- University of Tennessee rising junior Annie Alexander was in action over the weekend at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Senior Championships and came away with a pair of fourth-place finishes at Panamerican Stadium.

Representing her native Trinidad &Tobago, Alexander notched a fourth-place finish in the discus. Her mark of 172 feet, 10 inches came on her third attempt and left her one spot away from a bronze medal.

Alexander also just missed medaling in the shot put. On her final throw of the competition, she unleashed an outdoor season-best toss of 56 feet, 11 1/2 inches to move from seventh to fourth position. She had placed sixth in the shot and third in the discus a year ago at this meet.
