Kayla Matrunick joined J.J. Clark's staff in 2005 and is in her second year as a volunteer assistant with the track & field and cross country teams.
The Latrobe, Pa., native came to Tennessee from Penn State, where she was an all-region cross country selection in 2004, a Big Ten Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten honoree from 2001 to 2005 and the recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2004-05.
Matrunick, who helped the Nittany Lions win the 2004 Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championship, earned a B.S. in nutrition from PSU in 2005 and aided Dr. Kristine Clark in counseling intercollegiate athletes at the school. She received a master's degree in sport psychology from UT in August 2006.
