2006: LaTonya was a key contributor toward Lady Vol relays and a point producer at the SEC level in the 400 meters...Indoors, she reported in with a fifth-place finish in the quarter at the conference meet, covering the distance in 54.81...She also ran the 200 meters at the league gathering, but her 24.52 mark was not fast enough to make the final...On relays, she ran a leg on UT's 4x400m unit, helping that quartet place third at SECs (3:36.61) and sixth at the NCAA meet (3:31.82), good for All-America distinction and the third-fastest indoor reading in school history...Also ran on a 4x4 that hit 3:33.66 at the Tyson Invitational, fifth best in program annals...She also produced her best 55m dash time yet, zipping to 6.90 in the prelims of the Tennessee Indoor Classic...Outdoors, LaTonya was unable to make the SEC final in the 400 meters, but she did manage a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional in 53.84...Her prowess on relays was evident, as she added her second and third All-America certificates of the season at the NCAA Outdoor meet, aiding the 4x400m unit to fourth from her leadoff position and handling the stick third on the sixth-place 4x1 tandem...She helped the shorter relay take second at SECs and the longer one grab fourth...Toted the baton third as Tennessee took third in the 4x200m event at the Penn Relays and contributed to a fifth-place effort in the 4x100m relay in Philadelphia.
2005: Another of UT's versatile and talented sprint newcomers in 2005, LaTonya improved dramatically as the season progressed, earning four All-America nods as a rookie and running on a pair of UT record-setting relays...Indoors, she covered everything from 55 to 400 meters and relays, aiding UT's NCAA and SEC team championships...Ran the 400 and 200 meters at SECs, taking sixth in the longer race in a PR and number-two UT time of 53.02 and winding up ninth in the shorter one at 23.86 after logging a then-season-best 23.49 in the prelims...Carried the baton on the 4x400m relay as well, helping that group take fifth in 3:36.27...At the NCAA Championships, she lowered her 200m career topper to 23.45 in squeaking out eighth place and chipped in as the 4x400m relay snagged second in 3:31.76 to chart the number-two time in Big Orange annals...In the short sprints, as with the 200 and 400 meters, she notched personal bests in every meet she attended...Wound up with a top time of 6.92 in the 55 meters at the Tennessee Indoor Classic and a high end of 7.44 in the 60 meters at the Penn State Invitational...Ran on victorious 4x4s at the Penn State meet and Powered by Tyson Invitational and a triumphant DMR at the Tyson meet as well...The Tyson DMR readout was fifth-best in Tennessee history at 11:17.28...Outdoors, she overcame a minor early season injury to grab two more All-America citations...After logging improvements of 53.00 and 52.95 to take second in the NCAA Mideast Regional 400m behind teammate Patricia Hall, LaTonya rolled to back-to-back 53.13s to finish 11th overall and as one of the top eight Americans at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...She also was onboard as UT rolled to a school-record 3:27.46 4x4 outburst to grab third nationally in Sacramento...A few weeks earlier, at the SEC meet, LaTonya hadn't quite rounded into form, and she was unable to make the final in the 200 meters (24.16) or the 400 meters, where she logged a then-PR of 54.57 in the prelims...She did rise to the occasion in the 4x400m relay, though, assisting as that group took second in 3:34.02...Saw only one race with the 4x100m relay all season, doing so in place of the ailing Tianna Madison, but it was a victorious venture of 44.20 at the NCAA Mideast Regional...Also was present as Tennessee tallied its second baton event victory of the meet, a 3:31.27 episode in Bloomington, Ind....Opened the season at the Florida Relays, as UT's tandem charted a school and facility best in the 4x200m relay and claimed victory.
