Michele Levy                  Class: Senior Hometown: Rockville, Md. High School: Wootton Height: 5-2 Event: Distance

2009: Went from being a walk-on in spring 2009 to competing in both the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the longer distance races...Crossed the line 17th in the 10,000 meters at SEC Outdoors and was named to the SEC Outdoor All-Freshman Team as the top finishing "freshman"...Technically, she was a first-year competitor rather than a freshman...Made the SEC Academic Honor Roll...Was asked to walk on to the squad after coach J.J. Clark saw her training for a marathon at the Tennessee's Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.

2007-08: While a student at UT, but not a member of the Lady Vol squad, Michele competed in two marathons...She ran in Richmond in 2007 (3:29) and at the Marine Corps event in Washington, D.C., in 2008 (3:25), earning qualifying marks in each for the Boston Marathon.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in track and cross country four years and with the boys' wrestling team for three seasons...Named to Washington Post All-Metro Cross Country Honorable Mention Team in 2003 and 2004...Finished second in her third Maryland outdoor state track & field meet, running 11:36.31 in the two-mile run in 2005...Owns prep career bests of 11:18 for two miles and 5:17 for one mile...That two-mile mark is a school record, as is the 9:43.9 clocking she helped set in the 4x800m relay...Minted a Pikes Peak 10K course record for the 15-19 age group in 2004 at 38:07...Was the first woman ever to compete in wrestling at Wootton High School and earned the honor of team captain...Earned Scholar-Athlete accolades.

PERSONAL: Majoring in journalism and electronic media and minoring in Spanish at the University of Tennessee...Previously served as one of the hosts of the Rock Solid Sports Talk Show on campus radio station WUTK-FM, 90.3 The Rock...Enjoys snowboarding and watching football in her spare time...Has an older brother, Bradford, 24...Michele Justine Levy was born in Gaithersburg, Md., on March 20, 1988...Her parents are Larry and Maureen Levy.
