2009: Saw action in a pair of meets indoors but did not compete during the outdoor campaign...Entered the 60m, 200m and long jump at both the Kentucky Invitational and Tyson Invitational...Posted a career-best long jump of 15-0 1/2 at the Tyson meet in Fayetteville, Ark.

2008: Appeared in several competitions during the indoor season...Logged a career best of 7.94 in the 60m dash at the Rod McCravy meet...Also added a 200m topper at that meet, running 26.23...Outdoors, Janea ran in three meets...Her best 100m productivity came at the Sea Ray Relays, where she ran a wind-aided 12.24...Posted identical 12.65s at the Pepsi Florida Relays and Vanderbilt Invitational...Logged her season-best 200m clocking at Vandy, covering the distance in a windy 25.83...Ran 26.20 at the Sea Ray Relays.

MARYLAND: 2006-07: Running for the Maryland Terrapins, Janea posted a then-outdoor season-best time of 12.68 in the prelims of the 100-meter dash to finish seventh and qualify for the finals at the George Mason Patriot Invitational...She went on to lower her season-best readout to 12.56 and place fifth in the finals...Janea also had her best clocking of the season in the 200-meter dash at 26.29...Indoors, she ran 8.12 in the 60 meters and 26.86 in the 200 meters at the Terrapin Invitational...Dropped her 60m time to 8.10 in the prelims at the ACC Championships...Named to the 2006-07 Maryland Athletic Department's Scholar Athlete Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a member of the basketball and track teams at CCHS...Prep career bests included 12.0 in the 100m dash, 25.0 in the 200m and 17 feet in the long jump.

PERSONAL: Janea is majoring in psychology...She has four siblings, including Jason, 29; Mikey, who passed away at the age of 20 in 2007; Jay, 11; and Kennedy, 9...Janea Danielle Grimes was born in Fairfax, Va., on Dec. 30, 1987...Her parents are Renea Hannon and Jason Grimes.
