2007: Earned the first two All-America nods of her career at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...Unleashed a career-best heave of 178-10 in the discus to wind up third after placing 20th nationally in 2006...That mark ranks her fifth on UT's all-time performers list...Made the finals in the hammer throw and wound up 11th overall with a throw of 190 feet...Was second in the discus at the NCAA Mideast Regional at 173-9, uncorking that measurement on her final throw of the competition to secure an NCAA bid...Wound up 10th in the hammer at the regional meet at 173-9, but she made the national field as an at-large invitee...Was a three-event scorer at SEC Outdoors...Grabbed second in the discus at 167-2...Took third in the hammer at 187-9...Snagged eighth in the shot at 45-9 3/4...Set a school record and won the hammer throw at the Sea Ray Relays with a toss of 198-3...That effort and a third-place finish in the discus enabled Shanna to win the Tony Wilson Award for female field events at that meet...Had an outdoor shot put PR of 46-1 1/2 in an eight-place result at the Penn Relays...Indoors, she posted a career-best and second-place SEC result in the weight throw with a toss of 65-2 3/4...That measurement left her in second on UT's all-time list in that event...Also rustled up seventh-place points in the shot put, stretching the tape to 46-3 1/4...Produced a PR in that event at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, uncorking a throw of 50-2 1/2 to claim victory in Lincoln, Neb....Was second in the weight at that meet with a then-career topper of 64-6 3/4...Went to the Virginia Tech Last Chance Invitational to try and secure a bid to the NCAA meet, but she came up short in that endeavor.

2006: During the indoor season, Shanna recorded personal bests in the shot and weight...Charted a then-career-best heave of 62-7 1/4 in the weight throw at the Tennessee Indoor Classic...Her fling of 60-10 1/2 at the SEC Championships was good for eighth place...Ended the 2006 season ranked second on UT's all-time performers list in that event...Had a then-PR of 45-4 1/4 in the shot put at the Tyson Invitational...Placed 12th at the SEC meet with that implement via an effort of 43-4.25...Began the indoor season with a then-PR of 45-3 3/4 to claim her first career indoor victory at the Tennessee All-Comers...Outdoors, Shanna qualified for her first NCAA Championship meet, doing so in the discus...Produced a throw of 158-4 that was good for 20th place in Sacramento...Qualified for that meet with a fling of 165-0 that stood for fifth at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Knoxville...Scored in sixth position at the SEC Championships, landing a toss of 163-11...Was 10th in both the hammer and shot at the SEC meet as well, with measurements of 179-1 and 44-11, respectively...At that time, the hammer effort was a career best and earned her a ticket to the regional meet, where she placed 15th at 173-11...Shanna stood second in the hammer and seventh in the discus on the Lady Vols' all-time outdoor performers chart as a sophomore.

2005: Shanna showed flashes of potential throughout her rookie season and then made national and international splashes at the end of the outdoor campaign...Went to Carson, Calif., in late June and came away with a victory in the discus at the USATF Junior Championships...Her career-best throw of 176-2, which ranks her seventh on the UT all-time performers list in that event, sealed the deal and earned her a trip to the Pan Am Junior Championships in Windsor, Ont., Canada...At that meet in July, Shanna carded a fling of 163-0 on her first attempt and held on for a runner-up finish...Was 11th at SECs in the discus at 148-8, while placing 13th in the shot put (43-6 1/2) with a season best and 21st in the hammer throw (149-3)...Won the discus competition at the Knoxville Twilight with a measurement of 161-2...Top hammer mark of the year was 159-2 at the Gatorade Classic...During the indoor campaign, she charted 14th-place finishes in the shot (41-5) and weight throw (53-3 3/4) at SECs...Her shot pinnacle of 51-5 3/4 came at the Virginia Tech Invitational, while her apex in the weight occurred at the Tennessee Indoor Classic (54-4 1/2).

HIGH SCHOOL: Shanna was a four-time all-state selection and a four-year all-city choice in the discus as a Cincinnati prep standout...Spent first two seasons at Aiken High School before competing her final two campaigns at Mother of Mercy High School...Claimed state discus titles in 2003 and 2004 with throws of 154-4 and 153-4, respectively...Was second in 2002 (143-10) and sixth (131-11) in 2001...Was third in the shot at the state meet as a senior (41-10 1/2) and seventh (40-31/2) as a junior...Fifth-ranked discus thrower in the nation as a senior according to Track & Field News...Holds city, region and district records in the discus and is Mother of Mercy's standard-setter in both the shot put and discus...Her best prep marks included 162-5 for the discus and 43-7 1/2 for the shot...Took first at the Midwest Meet of Champions with that then-career-topping discus throw, earning the "Star of Stars" award...Helped Team Ohio win the meet...Named 2004 Girls Greater Cincinnati League (GGCL) Track & Field Athlete of the Year...2002 AAU discus and shot put champion at national meet in Knoxville, Tenn., charting throws of 151-0 and 41-7, respectively...Received invitation to USATF Junior Elite Camp...Lettered two years in track and served as captain each season.
