Hahn-Patrick Leads USA Girls to Championship at Junior International Tennis Invitational

Nov. 18, 2008

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Serving as the head coach of the Team USA 14-and-under girls squad at the inaugural Junior International Tennis Invitational, presented by the City of Sandy Springs, Ga., Oct. 19-26, University of Tennessee Co-Head Women's Tennis Coach Sonia Hahn-Patrick guided her team to an undefeated record and tournament championship.

"I am extremely proud of having been selected to coach at such a prestigious event in its first year of existence," Hahn-Patrick said. "It was a great experience and I honestly feel that this will quickly become one of the premier junior tournaments in the country. I feel very privileged to have been able to coach such a terrific group of girls as well."

Hahn-Patrick, who is currently in her 12th season as co-head coach at Tennessee, led her squad to a perfect 5-0 record with victories over teams from Canada and Mexico, as well as a group from Georgia, a unit comprised of international players and a team of players from other Southern states.

Proceeds from the tournament helped benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), including research for its research for its Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service, as well as equipment for a new play area in the inpatient center.
