The University of Tennessee women's tennis team finished up play at the Furman Fall Classic today with a singles flight title. Every Lady Vol finished in the top three of their respective flights in singles competition.

In flight one, senior Melissa Schaub (Lexington, Ohio) replaced junior Blakeley Griffith (Middleburg, Va.) and played Liberty Sveke of Vanderbilt. Schaub came away with the win, 6-3 and 6-4, for a third place finish in the flight for Tennessee.

Flight two saw junior Victoria Jones (Tyne & Wear, U.K.) take on Furman's Lauren Osborne and picked up the win in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-1. Jones also finished third in the flight.

Sophomore Ghizela Schutte (Ninapark, South Africa) participated in the third flight and beat Meg Fanjoy of Furman in three sets, 1-6, 7-5, and 6-2. Schutte ended the day with another third place showing.

In flight four, sophomore Bryce Marable (Darien, Ill.) defeated Furman's Shannon Moore in straight sets 6-0 and 6-4. Marable was the lone Lady Vol to win their respective flight.

Flight five of singles play saw a match between freshman Stephanie Harris (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Maggie Yahnar of Vanderbilt. Harris couldn't quite pick up the win, thus dropping the match, 4-6, 7-5, and 6-0, and bringing home a second place finish.

Freshman Samantha Orlin (Miami, Fla.) competed against Clemson's Kathi Gerber and was able to come out on top in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-4. Orlin ended up finishing in third place.

The Lady Vols will next be in action at the Riviera All-American Tournament in Pacific Palisades, Calif., starting Tuesday, Oct. 4.
