Trio of Lady Vols in Action at Winter Nationals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - In search of Olympic Trial cuts, a trio of Lady Vol swimmers were in action over the weekend at the AT&T Winter National Championships held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Juniors Caroline Simmons and Abbie Alton both competed in the 100 free event, as Simmons touched in at 57.39 seconds to claim 39th, while Alton's grabbed 79th after a clocking of 58.76 seconds. Simmons just missed achieving an Olympic standard by .20 seconds, as the Olympic Trial cut time in the event is 57.19 seconds.

Sophomore Courtney Ciesielski was in action in the 200 fly and claimed 45th after a readout of 2:18.56. The Olympic Trial standard in the event is 2:16.49.
