One of the top defenders in Lady Vol history, Marie-Eve Nault will assist in the coaching and development of this year's squad. A two-time Academic All-SEC selection, the Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, native is pursuing her bachelor's degree in exercise science and will graduate next May. Nault is tied for first on the school's career list in matches played (83) and ranks fourth in matches started (72). A current member of the Canadian National Team, she earned all-tournament kudos at both the First Tennessee Classic and Maryland/adidas Classic in 2003. Remarkably, six of her nine career goals at UT proved to be match-winners.

AS A JUNIOR (2002): Was one of four Lady Vols to start all 25 matches...Enters her final campaign having started all 27 of UT's Southeastern Conference contests in her career...Was voted as the squad's Defensive Most Valuable Player by her teammates...Certainly made her lone goal of the season one to remember, as her rocket from 28 yards into the upper right corner at 32:43 proved to be the difference in the 1-0 win over Georgia in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal...The match-winner was the sixth of her career, leaving her in second place on the all-time list, one score behind the duo of Kendyl Michner (1997-99) and Laura Lauter Smith (1997-2000)...Just a week earlier, Marie-Eve had notched the assist on Rhian Wilkinson's Golden Goal against the Bulldogs which clinched the Eastern Division title...Played a critical role in helping the Orange limit Georgia, Kentucky and Florida to a combined seven shots on net during SECs...Finished with three helpers on the campaign, tying her season high...Chosen all-tournament at the Santa Clara adidas Classic...

AS A SOPHOMORE (2001): Participated in every match for the Lady Vols, with 12 starts...Contributed seven points on two goals and three assists...Picked up the match-winning assist when she fed Kayla Lockaby with the decisive score in UT's 2-1 upset over #16 Wake Forest on Sept. 20...Helped set up Lyndsey Patterson's first career goal against #7 Clemson three days later...Delivered her second straight strong performance against Western Division rivals Arkansas and LSU by netting a goal in each victory...

AS A FRESHMAN (2000): Arrived on the scene to form a deadly scoring punch with fellow rookie Wilkinson...Nault rated second on the Lady Vols in both goals (six) and match-winners (three) on her way to 13 points...More impressive was that five of her six scores came in SEC action, including match-winning efforts against Arkansas, LSU and #15 Kentucky...Delivered her first career goal by converting a penalty kick in the home opener against Arizona...Held pointless for eight straight matches before exploding for three goals and a helper during the successful road swing to Fayetteville and Baton Rouge...Scored her squad's second goal against the Lady'Backs and assisted on Kelly Berrall's tally that boosted UT's lead to 3-1 over Arkansas...Connected on consecutive goals against LSU, the first of which saw the birth of the 'Canadian Connection,' a nod to her countrymate Wilkinson...Drilled a shot from 20 yards out for the initial score and then beat Tiger goalie Bonnie Otillio on a one-on-one chance on a pass from Berrall...Registered another multiple-goal effort one week later on Oct. 15, when her heroics paved the way for an upset win over #15 UK...First goal of the afternoon provided the Lady Vols with a 1-1 tie against the Wildcats...Later headed in a corner kick taken by Rachael Newkirk with 26 ticks left on the clock to trigger a wild celebration...UT had not defeated a ranked foe since toppling #16 Alabama on Sept. 12, 1998...

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Her team at Cegep de Trois-Rivieres blazed to a spotless 13-0 mark and the Quebec Provincial Championship in 1999...Earned a bronze medal at the national championship in Ontario...Named as a member of the East's Under-18 All-Stars...Selected to the All-Canadian Junior College team and was the top scorer in the postseason...Chosen as the Player of the Game following match against Medicine Hat...Recipient of the Quebec Soccer Federation's "Best Feminine Athlete" honor in '98...Garnered Most Valuable Player honors of the Quebec Provincial League in 1996 and '97...Monopolized her club team's MVP award by claiming trophy six straight times...In helping her squad to a runner-up finish at the National Capital Tournament in 1998, Nault was tabbed as the MVP of the event...Presented gold medals for victories in the Quebec Soccer League Playoffs (1997 and '99), Quebec Cup ('98), International Tournament of Granby ('96) and at the Laval Cup ('96)...
