GOLD RIVER, Calif. - The University of Tennessee women's rowing team completed the morning session at the 2010 NCAA Rowing Championships and have advanced to this afternoon's repechages of the V8, 2V8 and V4.

The best performance of the day came from the 2V8, which posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 6:46.88. UT finished ahead of South Region rival Clemson by more than 10 seconds.

In the Orange and White's first race of the day, the V8+, UT was paired with some tough competition. No. 1-ranked Virginia, No. 2 Princeton and No. 13 UCLA all competed in that heat. Tennessee finished in 6:35.12, ahead of No. 15 Ohio State

The Varsity 4+ posted a sixth-place finish, crossing the finish line in 7.38.89.

Repechages begin this afternoon with the Varsity 8+ at 3:30 p.m. PT, followed by the Second Varsity 8+ at 3:45 p.m. PT and the Varsity 4+ at 4 p.m. PT.

Tennessee will compete in lane six of the Varsity 8+ repechage, lane one of the 2V8+ rep and lane 7 in the V4+.

The Lady Vols' performance in this afternoon's repechages will determine UT's seeding for the semifinals and finals.
