"Kelly is a natural rower with a fluid style. As a senior, she is expected to exhibit the fight and intensity of a seasoned veteran. Kelly needs to take on a substantial role in order to finish her career at Tennessee knowing that she took advantage of every competitive opportunity placed before her. She needs to project intensity and race-level mentality everyday to accomplish this."

FALL 2002: Opened the season by claiming gold at the Chattanooga Head Race in the Championship 8+...Helped lead her 8+ shell to a 25th-place finish in a 47-boat field in the Championship 8+ at the prestigious Head of the Charles...Rowed in the 8+ boat that placed second in the Club 8+ race at the Head of the Chattahoochee...2001-02: Won gold at both the Chattanooga Head Race and Head of the Charles as a member of UT's Varsity 8+ shell during the fall...Spent the spring season rowing primarily for the Lady Vols' 2nd Varsity 8+...Helped lead her boat to a silver medal in the 8+ race at the SIRA Championships and second place in the Petite Final of the Lexus Central/Southern Sprints...Also rowed for the Varsity 8+ in dual meets against Notre Dame and Minnesota...Earned Academic All-SEC recognition and was named to the Lady Vol Honor Roll for the third consecutive year...2000-01: Found herself entrenched in the Varsity 8+ boat during the spring season...Her shell finished sixth in the Grand Final of the SIRA Championships...Member of the boat that finished second at the San Diego Crew Classic after claiming the number one seed in the opening heats...Garnered four medals during the fall season, including two golds, a silver and a bronze...Named to the Lady Vol Honor Roll...1999-2000: Member of the Varsity 8+ boat that finished in second three times during the year...Named to the Lady Vol Honor Roll...

A 1999 graduate, Kraiss competed with the rowing team at Dr. Phillips High School three years and served as captain for one...Also was a member of the cheerleading team in her freshman year...Finished sixth at the 1998 U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals in the Varsity 4+ and ninth in the Varsity 8+...Won the 1998 Varsity 4+ at Southeast Regionals...Named as the team's "Most Valuable Teammate" in her senior year...A member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Who's Who Among American High School Students...
