5:00 p.m. -- Taber Spani paced UT with 16 points, while Kelley Cain had 11 boards to lead Tennessee.

4:58 p.m. -- Final from Knoxville, Tennessee 61, UCLA 47. Tennessee is now 5-0, UCLA is 4-2.

4:54 p.m. -- Campbell fouls out for UCLA with :47.3 left and Tennessee leading 61-47.

4:50 p.m. -- Tennessee still leading, now 57-45 with 1:33 to go.

4:44 p.m. -- Glory Johnson picks up her 5th foul under the UCLA basket and is done for the day, finishing with 11 points and 7 rebounds on 5-10 shooting from the field.

4:43 p.m. -- Make it 3 for her last 3, as Bjorklund hits from long range again, 53-42 UT with 4:08 left.

4:41 p.m. -- Alicia Manning briefly went to the locker room after a collision under the basket, but has come back to the UT bench and appears to be just fine and ready to re-enter.

4:39 p.m. -- After missing her first five attempts, Bjorklund has connected on two straight three-pointers and UT heads 50-40 with 5:50 left.

4:36 p.m. -- We head to the media timeout at the 6:56 mark with Tennessee leading 47-40. Taber Spani lead UT with 14 points, while Kelley Cain has 11 rebounds. Markel Walker is leading the way for the Bruins in both categories with 13 points at 10 rebounds.

4:31 p.m. -- With her sweet pass to Cain for two, Stricklen has either scored or assisted on UT's last 11 points, as the Lady Vols lead 43-38.

4:26 p.m. -- Bjorklund breaks through with a wide open 3 from the top of the key. She has 4 points and Tennessee leads 41-34 as we head to a timeout with 10:55 remaining.

4:25 p.m. -- Six straight points from Stricklen has UT up 38-32 with 12:08 left.

4:24 p.m. -- Tennessee still shooting under 27% from the field, as it is 11-41 to this point.

4:22 p.m. -- Back-to-back fouls from Johnson send her to bench with four. She goes to the bench with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

4:21 p.m. -- First field goal for the Bruins comes at the 15:35 mark as Campbell connects on a jump shot, but Tennessee answers with a pair of Stricklen free throws, and still leads 34-29 with 14:44 remining.

4:19 p.m. -- In the surprise of the day (not), Lady Vol fans select UConn as their "favorite" rival in Verizion's Text2Win promotion during the TO.

4:16 p.m. -- UCLA still without a FG in the second half as we go to a media timeout with Tennessee leading 31-27. 6-0 run for the Lady Vols to open the 2nd period.

4:15 p.m. -- Campbell of UCLA picks up foul #3 on a half-court charge with 16:30 remaining.

4:12 p.m. -- Tennessee held UCLA to one FG over the last 4:11 of the first half, and have held the Bruins scoreless so far with 17:50 left in the 2nd.

4:09 p.m. -- UCLA timeout gives us time to tell you that UT is dominating second-chance points 19-2.

4:08 p.m. -- Taber Spani nails two free throws, then Glory Johnson connects on a jumper on UT's next posession to give UT its first lead of the afternoon at 29-27 with 18:44 remaining.

4:05 p.m. -- We are underway in the 2nd half.

4:05 p.m. -- A few halftime notes: This is just the second the time this season UT has trailed at the half, the other coming against Baylor, where the Lady Vols trailed by a pair en route to a 74-65 win. Taber Spani scored the final five points of the 1st half for UT and 9 of the final 11.

3:50 p.m. -- Johnson's jumper doesn't beat the buzzer after a shot from Walker of UCLA hits bottom with :04 left. We go to the half with UCLA on top 27-25.

3:49 p.m. -- Spani nails a pair of free throws and we're tied at 25 with :34 left in the half. First tie since the game began, UCLA had led the whole way.

3:47 p.m. -- Johnson picks up her second foul for an elbow after coming down with a big rebound. Huge reaction from the crowd. It's 25-23 UCLA, under a minute left in the 1st.

3:45 p.m. -- A Johnson free-throw and another Spani 3 makes the score 24-23 with 1:53 left. Lady Vols in the midst of a 10-2 run.

3:41 p.m. -- A pair of missed shots by UCLA plus a basket by Cain makes it 24-19, Briuns still leading with 2:14 left in the half.

3:39 p.m. -- Spani connects for 3 from the baseline, first made three-pointer for UT. Tennessee now 1-8 from beyond the arc.

3:35 p.m. -- UCLA works quickly down the court and another 3-pointer from Tukiainen puts UCLA up 20-13. Tukiainen has 8 points so far.

3:34 p.m. -- Baseline jumper, followed by a steal and another score from Kamiko Williams makes it 17-13 Tennessee with 5:58 left. Williams' back-to-back baskets lead to a UCLA 30-second timeout.

3:33 p.m. -- Stricklen picks up her second foul trying to make a great hustle play on a loose ball with 7:13 left in 1st.

3:30 p.m. -- 100 jerseys in the Ring of Honor is the answer to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge Trivia Question and lucky fans in TBA are getting free admission to the hall for answering correctly. Still 15-9 UCLA at the 7:39 mark.

3:28 p.m. -- Bjorklund misfires from 3, UT now 0-6 from beyond the arc thus far.

3:26 p.m. -- Glory Johnson with a steal and a score, pulling UT to 13-9, but UCLA answers with a bucket from Tukiainen, its 15-9 Bruins with 8:46 left in the 1st.

3:23 p.m. -- Fresh off a win over College of Charleston last evening, Bruce Pearl and staff are in attendence this afternoon, taking in the game from seats near the baseline student section.

3:22 p.m. -- Tennessee shooting 3-13 from the field so far and trail UCLA 11-6 at the second media timeout, 11:25 left in the 1st.

3:18 p.m. -- Teams still struggling to find a rhythm early, UCLA leads 9-6 with 12:00 left, 19 total turnovers.

3:17 p.m. -- Early foul trouble for UCLA, Campbell goes to the bench with a pair of fouls.

3:15 p.m. -- Eight TO's for UCLA, four for the Lady Vols, less than six minutes in.

3:14 p.m. -- A bucket by Nzekwe makes it 5-2 Bruins, the teams exchange turnovers and Taber Spani drives to the hoop to draw Tennessee back within one. 5-4 UCLA 14:47.

3:12 p.m. -- Volleyball star Nikki Fowler honored as Lady Vol Academic Acheiver for the game. Fowler was key in Tennessee's upsets last week of top-15 teams Florida and Kentucky.

3:11 p.m. -- First media timeout comes with 15:55 left in the first half, the Briuns lead 3-2.

3:10 p.m. -- Teams exchange turnover and missed shots, the two teams are combined 2-9 from the field so far, 7 turnovers between the teams.

3:08 p.m. -- UCLA sharpshooter Tukiainen strikes first to make it 3-0 Bruins, but Glory Johnson Ansewer, 3-2 early on.

3:07 - UCLA controls the tip and we are underway from Thompson- Boling.

3:06 p.m. -- The lights come back on following introductions revealing a great crowd on hand, Lady Vol fans are done with the turkey and ready for some basketball!

3:04 p.m. -- Lights out, fireworks on, it must be time for Lady Vol Basketball!

3:02 p.m. -- Caldwell and Butts get a warm welcome from the Tennessee faithful as they are introduced with the rest of the Bruins.

2:46 p.m. -- Tennessee going with its usual lineup of #5 Angie Bjorklund, #13 Taber Spani, #25 Glory Johnson, #40 Skekinna Stricklen, ans #52 Kelley Cain.

2:42 p.m. -- Starters for UCLA are #3 Darixa Morris, #4 Christina Nzekwe, #13 Erica Tukiainen, #21 Doreena Campbell, and #23 Markel Walker. Please forgive any future misspellings of those names. PA Announcer Mike Hammond has his work cut out for him. That's teh first start this season for Nzekwe, replacing Nina Earl in the lineup.

2:34 p.m. -- Tennessee Marketing's "Coats for the Cold" promotion has proven quite popular today. General Admission tickets to today's game are free with the donation of a new or gently used coat for Knoxville's needy. The GA sections are filling up fast, but if you're in the area, come out out to Thompson-Boling Arena.

2:31 p.m. -- For an email question about the team's confidence, I believe that the team's early season performances against stiff competition has further built on confidence gained by a competitive off-season program and a strong fall camp.

2:29 p.m. -- For today only, Lady Vol Network coverage in Knoxville is on WOKI FM 98.7, Knoxville's True Oldies Channel with Mickey Dearstone and Network Host Courtney Lyle.

2:28 p.m. -- Today's game is being broadcast across the southeast on SportSouth with Randy Smith and Debbie Antonelli on the call. Knoxville customers of Comcast can find the game on channel 58, while Knology subscribers can find it on 61.

2:25 p.m. -- Based on the number of fans filing into TBA this early, it looks to be a great crowd on hand for today's matchup with the Bruins.
