8:56 pm -- Tennessee’s next opponent is #10 Texas this Sunday night at 7:00 pm at Thompson-Boling Arena. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.

8:56 pm -- With tonight’s win, the Lady Vols are now 6-0 on the season, while George Washington falls to 2-4 on the season and have now lost four straight.

8:55 pm -- Final from Knoxville, 93-53. 40 points represents the largest margin of victory this season for the Lady Vols.

8:54 pm -- Smallbone hits a pair from the line, 93-51 UT.

8:54 pm -- With Johnson and Stricklen on the bench late, Brewer has taken over for UT. She has 23 points, and 7 boards.

8:52 pm -- Manning has put together quite the stat line tonight, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists.

8:50 pm -- "A-Town" completes the three-point play, 87-48 UT.

8:49 pm -- Booker fouls out for GW on the play, 0 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist.

8:47 pm -- Manning with a steal and a score for UT. She draws a fould and will try to complete the old-fashioned three-point play when we return from the final media timeout. Tennessee up 86-48 with 2:45 remaining.

8:42 pm -- 5:21 left in the game, Tennessee still leading 77-46.

8:41 pm -- Tennessee needs to feed Bass the ball, she's the only Lady Vol yet to score in tonights game. All nine players available have played for UT.

8:33 pm -- Brewer with 6 points in the last 3 minutes as UT takes a 75-39 lead with 8:08 remaining in the game. She has 15 points on the night, the third Lady Vol in double figures.

8:32 pm -- Also Sunday at halftime of Tennessee-Texas, we will have Einstein the Talking Parrott from the Knoxville Zoo. Search for him on YouTube for a preview!

8:30 pm -- UT Marketing has a great deal for Lady Vol fans Sunday. Fans can purchase the Domino's Meal Deal which includes three reserved-seat tickets, 3 pizzas, and three drinks at Thompson-Boling for just $45.

8:24 pm -- As we reach the under-12:00 media timeout, George Washington has just one player in double figures as Allums has 14. Stricklen and Johnson both are in double figures for UT, but Bjorklund, Spani and Brewer all have 9 each.

8:18 pm -- Tennessee winning the battles of points in the paint 34-6, points off turnovers 23-2, 2nd chance points 14-9, fast break points 14-0, and bench scoring 15-2.

8:17 pm -- Tennessee Event Management Director Tara Brooks tells us (and I tell you), tonight's attendence is 12,840.

8:14 pm -- Glory Johnson hits a pair of free throws to allow the fans to take a seat. A quick steal by Manning and a pair of 3's by Bjorklund make it 62-29 Tennessee as George Washington takes a timeout. 16:02 left in the game.

8:12 pm -- GW with the first 5 points of the half and that Lady Vol faithful are still standing and clapping waiting for the first UT bucket. 54-29 Tennessee still leads, 17:08.

8:09 pm -- Tennessee with posession to start the 2nd half and we are once again underway.

8:08 pm -- Up 30 at the half, we should keep in mind that UT's previous highest margin of victory this season is 38. Certainly on pace to break that tonight.

--------------------------- 1st Half ---------------------------

7:52 pm -- The 54 points scored here in the first half is the most scored by UT in any half this season. We go to the break with the Lady Vols on top of the Colonials 54-24.

7:50 pm -- Manning finds a cutting Kamiko Williams for a driving layup to increase the Tennessee lead to 30 at 54-24 with 1:00 left in the 1st.

7:48 pm -- Glory Johnson has been everywhere for UT tonight. 14 points, 8 rebounds and a pair of assists. Tennessee leads 52-24 with 2:23 left in the half.

7:46 pm -- Joining Candace Parker courtside is another former Lady Vol and current ESPN analyst Kara Lawson. Lailaa being passed between the USA Basketball teammates happily as they all enjoy tonight's action.

7:44 pm -- UT dominating the points in the paint 28-4 and is shooting almost 53% from the field as we head to the final media TO of the 1st half, still 47-22 Lady Vols.

7:41 pm -- Sydney Smallbone hits a pair of free throws, then comes up with a steal as UT sets up the press and feeds Alicia Manning with a sweet pass for an easy layup. GW takes a timeout as UT leads 47-22 with 4:05 left in the 1st.

7:36 pm -- Tennessee winning the turnover battle 6-2, with 4 of those GW turnovers coming on UT steals.

7:35 pm -- Stricklen with the steal and the basket, UT leads 38-21 with 6:57 left in the first.

7:33 pm -- Former Lady Vol Candace Parker in the house tonight sitting courtside with daughter Lailaa on her lap. Lailaa has on a tiny #3 Tennessee jersey. Tennessee Media Relations Director Debby Jennings says Lailaa may be making the earliest unofficial visit in school history. All part of the Lady Vol family.

7:31 pm -- Not to jinx her, but the Lady Vols really needed Lyssi Brewer to step up tonight with Cain out and she has responded so far. Nine points to this point.

7:29 pm -- A pair of Allums free throws breaks the UT run, but UT answers with back-to-back baskets from Spani and Brewer. Brewer adds a free-throw and Tennessee leads 36-18.

7:28 pm -- Brewer wins the battle underneath to score and draw a foul, she misses the free throw but UT gets control of the rebound and Spani scores. UT on an 8-0 run since the timeout and leads 31-16 with 9:28 left.

7:23 pm -- The Colonials get a long two-pointer from Myers to pull within 7 at 23-16 as we go to a media timeout with 10:59 left in the 1st. Stricklen for Tennessee is shooting 4-5 from the field and leads the Lady Vols with 9 points so far.

7:21 pm -- Tennessee in the midst of an 14-2 run as Stricklen connects for three, UT now leads 23-14 with 11:20 left.

7:17 pm -- Johnson scores again, and has 7 of UT's 14 points. Timeout GW as UT leads 14-10 with 14:02 left.

7:16 pm -- Johnson answers with a drive of her own, hitting the shot and drawing a fould for a 3-point play and Tennessee regains the lead at 12-10 with 14:24 left in the 1st.

7:15 pm -- A pair of Johnson free throws afollowing the timeout gives UT its first lead at 9-8, but GW pulls back ahead as Mostafa takes it to the hoop for a 10-9 lead.

7:12 pm -- At the first media timeout, it's still 8-7 Colonials and GW checks in four new players during the timeout.

7:11 pm -- Alicia Manning first player of the bench for UT, and with only 9 players available tonight, we may be in store for a lot of rotation.

7:09 pm -- In what might be a sign of things to come, the teams are trading baskets quickly, GW leads 8-7 with 16:56 left in the 1st.

7:07 pm -- Angie Bjorklund nails a three to open scoring for UT, but a trip of quick buckets for GW has the Colonials up 6-3.

7:06 pm -- Glory Johnson wins the tip and we're underway in Knoxville!

7:04 pm -- Fireworks are done and we're set for tip for Tennessee and George Washington.

7:00 pm -- As we get set for the starting lineups here at TBA, I want to point out that we have one of the legends of women's basketball officiating is in the house tonight as June Corteau joins fellow referees Lawson Newton and Bob Trammell in calling tonight's action.

6:58 pm -- Pregame stat of the night: Tennessee has not allowed an opponent to shoot over 40% from the field yet this season. GW is shooting 38.4% on the season coming in to tonight's game.

6:56 pm -- George Washington starters are #5 Shi-Hera Shipp, #13 Janine Davis, #31 Tara Booker, #44 Sara Mostafa, and #50 Kay-Kay Allums.

6:50 pm -- Tonight is the 10th meeting between UT and GW, with Tennessee holding a 9-0 lead in the series. Last season the Lady Vols traveled to DC and knocked of the 9th-ranked Colonials 71-59.

6:48 pm -- TV for tonight is once again SportSouth, Comcast channel 58 in Knoxville, with Bob Kesling and Debbie Antonelli on the call. Radio coverage is back to its usual Knoxville home on the Sports Animal 99.1/99.3FM and 990AM with The Voice of the Lady Vols Mickey Dearstone and Network Host Courtney Lyle.

6:43 pm -- For those of you that may have missed the news earlier in the week, Kelley Cain will sit out tonight after sustaining a concussion in Saturday's win over UCLA. In her absence, Head Coach Pat Summitt is deploying the three-guard lineup noted below.

6:40 pm -- Tonight's starters for Tennessee - #1 Briana Bass, #5 Angie Bjorklund, #13 Taber Spani, #25 Glory Johnson, #40 Shekinna Stricklen. Still waiting on the starters for GW.

6:33 pm -- Great promotion tonight from UT Marketing benefitting Mission of Hope. Fans can bring a new or gently used toy for the Mission of Hope and receive one free general admission ticket.
