Lady Vols Tour D.C. Prior to Game against George Washington

Signs of the impending inauguration, now just 49 days away, are visible across The District as the city begins to transform itself for the 55th quadrennial Presidential Inauguration. The 2008-09 Lady Vol Basketball team cajoled their bus drivers, Randall and Rodney Gresham, to stop the bus so they could quickly jump out to document a piece of history. The team posed in front of the West Front of the U.S. Capitol where president-elect, Barack Obama, will be sworn-in before 12 noon on January 20, 2009. Scaffolding under construction for the ceremony is visible behind the Lady Vols. Freshman Briana Bass, Indianapolis, Ind., was a first time visitor to D.C., while fellow rookie Amber Gray, West Chester, Ohio, does her best imitation of the full-length portrait of George Washington which hangs in the East Room of the White House.
