The Tennessee Lady Vol basketball team took a quick tour of the nation's capital this afternoon following an hour long shoot-around at George Washington University's Smith Center. The 7th /12th ranked Lady Vols (5-1) take on the Colonials (4-2) tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Signs of the impending inauguration, now just 49 days away, are visible across The District as the city begins to transform itself for the 55th quadrennial Presidential Inauguration.

The 2008-09 Lady Vol Basketball team cajoled their bus drivers, Randall and Rodney Gresham, to stop the bus so they could quickly jump out to document a piece of history. The team posed in front of the West Front of the U.S. Capitol where president-elect, Barack Obama, will be sworn-in before 12 noon on January 20, 2009. Scaffolding under construction for the ceremony is visible behind the Lady Vols. Freshman Briana Bass, Indianapolis, Ind., was a first time visitor to D.C., while fellow rookie Amber Gray, West Chester, Ohio, does her best imitation of the full-length portrait of George Washington which hangs in the East Room of the White House.
