Kentucky, which broke a three-game losing streak with the win, led by 18 points (71-53) with 4:38 left in the game when the Gators began their comeback. Florida went on a 19-6 run over the next 3:27 to pull within five, 77-72 with 1:26 remaining in the game. The Wildcats, however, made 7-of-8 clutch free throws in the final minute. Kentucky, which shot a season-best 51.9 percent (28-of-54) from the field, also won the rebound battle by 13 (44-31), its second-largest rebounding margin in SEC play this season.
DOUBLED-UP ALABAMA AND GEORGIA IN SEC PLAY
The Lady Vols have picked up two wins over Alabama and Georgia this season. Tennessee has already picked up one win over Vanderbilt and will face the Commodores again on Feb. 25.
AUBURN NOTEBOOK
The Auburn Tigers are currently wedged in the middle of the pack of the SEC standings with a 4-4 record. AU entered the SEC portion of the schedule sporting a 13-3 slate in non-conference play. During the first two weeks versus conference opposition, Auburn post a loss then a win. The pattern was broken in week three losing back-to-back games to Kentucky and LSU. Since that time, the Tigers have won two straight defeating Alabama and Mississippi St.

Tennessee leads the series with Auburn, 30-8. The two teams began competing during the 1980 season in the SEC Tournament. UT has won the last 14 meetings and 22 of the last 23 games overall dating back to the 1991 SEC Tournament.
THOSE DARN CATS
Auburn is one of just nine teams who have recorded a win over the Lady Vols in Thompson-Boling Arena. The Tigers defeated UT on Jan. 9, 1988, 71-68. The eight other teams with wins over UT since the team moved to TBA in 1987 includes: Texas (78-97, 66-69 and 60-70), Louisiana Tech (58-59 and 64-69), Georgia (74-81, 93-94 OT), Connecticut (53-59, 67-74 and 72-86), Stanford (65-82), Duke (59-57 and 74-70), LSU (69-72) and Florida (93-95 OT).
AVERAGE SCORE
The last five meetings between the two schools have been fairly low scoring affairs with Tennessee averaging 74.2 ppg and Auburn 57.4. Five games ago, UT had to go to overtime to beat Auburn at home, 68-61.
FORMER LADY VOL NOW A TIGER
Auburn assistant coach Daedra Charles Furlow wore #32 for the Lady Vols from 1988-91. A 6'3" center, "Night Train" was the WADE Trophy winner, 1991 SEC Woman of the Year and a two-time Kodak All-American. Tennessee retired her jersey in 1991.

OUR LAST MEETING
Candace Parker had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Shanna Zolman added 16 points and six assists to lead #8-ranked Tennessee over Auburn, 77-45, on Mar. 3, 2006 in the second round of the SEC Tournament. The Lady Vols (26-4) were overwhelming from the start against Auburn, jumping ahead 13-0. Tennessee smothered the Tigers (14-15) on defense, holding them to four assists and 28-percent shooting. Parker, the SEC's freshman of the year, scored all her points in the first half as the Lady Vols built a 40-26 lead. Zolman, a first-team All-SEC selection as a senior, went 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Three of Zolman's 3- pointers came during Tennessee's 24-3 run to start the second half. That gave the Lady Vols a 35-point lead, their biggest of the game. Tye'sha Fluker led Tennessee with 19 points. She also had eight rebounds. The Lady Vols shot a sizzling 57 percent from the field and 54 percent from beyond the arc. A much taller Auburn front court was out-rebounded 42-27. Tennessee eliminated Auburn from the SEC tournament for the third time in four years. The Lady Vols' last loss to the Tigers anywhere was in the 1997 tournament. With the win, UT improves to 23-4 all-time in SEC second round games. The Lady Vols also had more than one regular-season SEC loss for the first time since 1997. With the win, UT earned the right to play #12-ranked Georgia in the semifinals March 4.
FACING THE RANKED
Tennessee faced their 11th ranked opponent of the 2006-07 season in the win over #9/14-ranked Georgia on Feb. 5. UT is 9-2 in games versus ranked teams out of 23 total contests. Meanwhile Auburn will be taking on their fourth ranked opponent in 25 games when they face #3 Tennessee. Auburn is 0-3 vs. ranked teams losing to then #20/20 George Washington (62-51), #25 Arkansas (65-62) and #8 LSU, 65-45.
FACING THE UNRANKED
When taking on an unranked opponent such as Auburn, the odds have typically tipped in Tennessee's favor. In her 33 years at the helm of the Lady Vols, UT head coach Pat Summitt has fashioned a 557-32 (.947) record when going up against unranked teams. The victory over Old Dominion was Summitt's 550th over an unranked foe.
SEC TWOSIES
The SEC plays a 14-game regular season schedule with each team playing everyone in the league once, a natural rival twice and designated rotating teams from the SEC East and West once extra time. The Lady Vols face Vanderbilt twice each season as its natural rival and this year will once again face Georgia and Alabama twice. Last season, Tennessee went 6-0 in these games during the regular season.

AGAINST THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE
Tennessee owns a 373-57 record all-time record vs. 12 teams from the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Vols maintain a winning record against every team in the SEC.
UT IS AMAZING AT HOME VERSUS THE SEC
Since Tennessee began contesting games with Southeastern Conference opponents, the Lady Vols have produced a 154-11 record in all games played at home. Only six SEC teams have ever managed a victory over the Lady Vols in Knoxville - Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU and Ole Miss. Georgia has won three games on UT's turf while Auburn, Kentucky and Ole Miss have registered two wins each and LSU and Florida one win. Georgia was the only team to defeat UT at home in the 1990s - the Lady Bulldogs turned the trick in 1991 and 1996. LSU and Florida are the only SEC teams to defeat UT at home in the 21st century.
WOW--13 SEASONS OF AT LEAST 10 SEC VICTORIES
In the win over Alabama on Feb. 19, 2006, Tennessee claimed its 10th SEC victory of the 2005-06 season. The Lady Vols have now registered double-digit victories in conference play an incredible 13 times. Since the 1991-92 season when SEC play expanded, the Lady Vols have won at least 10 games in the following years: 1992-10 wins, 1993-11 wins, 1994-11 wins, 1995-11 wins, 1998-14 wins, 1999-13 wins, 2000-13 wins, 2001- 14 wins, 2002- 13 wins, 2003- 14 wins, 2004-14 wins, 2005- 13 wins and 2006-11 wins.
SPOILED, I TELL YOU
Prior to last season, it had been nine years since the Lady Vols dropped three SEC league games during a season. In the 1996-97 HBO documentary campaign of "The Cinderella Season: The Lady Vols Fight Back," Tennessee went 8-4 in the SEC. All-time in 25 years of league play, Tennessee has lost two or more SEC games just seven times. Conversely, the Lady Vols have tallied seven perfect league campaigns in SEC play.
SEC LEAGUE PLAY
UT owns a league best record of 247-33 against all SEC teams dating back to the 1982-83 season.
THIS IS AMAZING
From 1980-1997, the Lady Vols claimed a total of six SEC regular season titles in 17 years. From 1998-2004, Tennessee captured seven consecutive SEC regular season crowns producing an amazing 109-4 record. UT's only league losses were to Vandy, Georgia and LSU (twice) during this stretch.
AP POLL NOTES
This is the 31st year of the Associated Press women's basketball rankings. The first Associated Press poll released of the 2005-06 season marked the 500th all-time poll. Since the poll was started in 1976, UT has failed to appear in just 14 of the total of 531 polls through the years. Currently, UT has been ranked in 389 consecutive polls. Since the 1986-87 season, the Lady Vols have been in the top 10 for all but one poll. UT is the only team to have been ranked every year for the last 31 years of the poll. UT has appeared at least once per season over the poll's history.
VS. AUBURN IN THE '06 REGULAR SEASON
Tennessee played more like coach Pat Summitt wanted, and Tye'sha Fluker was one of the main reasons. Fluker scored a career-high 22 points and Sidney Spencer added 18 to help the No. 5 Lady Vols beat Auburn 81-56 on Feb. 23, 2006. Tennessee (25-3, 11-2 Southeastern Conference) built a big lead in the first half and never relinquished it on the way to a 13th straight victory over Auburn. Tennessee's Candace Parker had her seventh double-double of the season with 13 rebounds and 11 points, though she missed a dunk attempt in the second half. Parker also had five assists. Auburn (13-13, 4-9), which hasn't won in Knoxville since 1988, led early but couldn't take advantage of its large front line that at times was bigger than Tennessee's. The Lady Vols' starting lineup grew taller with the loss of point guard Alexis Hornbuckle, who was thought to be out for the season with a broken right wrist. Fluker started at center with three forwards at least 6-foot-3 and 5-10 Shanna Zolman at point guard. Fluker was 7-of-9 from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line. The game featured two of the best freshmen in the SEC - Parker and Auburn's DeWanna Bonner, who led her team with 14 points. Reserve Sherell Hobbs added 12 points for the Tigers. The Lady Vols were ahead by as many as 16 in the first half, 39-29 at the break, and stretched it to 20 early in the second half. Auburn had two quick baskets to trim it to 16, but the Tigers could not rally. They had 15 turnovers and were outrebounded 40-25 to give Tennessee several second chances. Auburn managed just nine rebounds in the second half. During one sequence after halftime, Fluker missed a free throw, but Spencer put back the rebound and was fouled for a three-point play. Tennessee took command in the first half with two runs. Auburn was ahead by six early when the Lady Vols took the lead on a 10-0 run that included three baskets by Parker. Nitasha Brown pulled the Tigers within one with a 3-pointer with 5:51 left before halftime. Then Tennessee held Auburn scoreless for nearly four minutes with a 15-0 run. Spencer and Dominique Redding hit consecutive 3s to end the spurt and put the Lady Vols ahead 37-21.
UT'S LAST TIME AT AUBURN
Despite being tested by a hot-shooting Auburn club, the No. 7/9 Tennessee Lady Vols utilized a 7-0 run late in the second half to hold off the Tigers for an 81-71 win at the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum on Jan. 20, 2005. With the victory, UT had won 37 consecutive regular season conference games. It was the Big Orange that got off to the quick start as Head Coach Pat Summitt's troops scored the contest's first seven points. However, AU would gradually chip away at the early lead and evened the score at 14 with 10:53 remaining in the first half. Tennessee responded with a 6-0 run and forced the Tigers to take a timeout. The Lady Vols would go ahead by as many as 10 points, 36-26, before taking a seven-point advantage into the locker room. Following the intermission, the Tigers showed no signs of cooling off at the offensive end of the floor (55 percent shooting in the first half), as they connected on their first six shot attempts and narrowed the margin to three, 48-45, with 15:26 showing. While UT answered Auburn's challenge with some good offensive production of its own, AU would not go away easily and fought back to take its first lead of the game, 62-61, with 6:01 to play. Soon afterwards, however, Tennessee rattled off a pivotal 7-0 spurt, capped off by a Tye'sha Fluker put-back, to lead 70-64. AU would get as close at three points, but the Lady Vols held on for the 10-point win. Individually, the Orange and White were led by Fluker, who earned her first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds (both career highs). Also scoring in double figures were Shyra Ely (20), Brittany Jackson (15) and Shanna Zolman (12). As a team, UT was out-shot 58 percent to 47 percent but won the battle of the boards, 32-23. It marked just the second time this season that UT's opponent has shot better than 50 percent.
WOW, JUST 6 TO GO
It's hard to believe that there are just six games to go in the regular season. UT's stretch run to the SEC Tournament includes a dangerous slate. The Lady Vols will face three teams at home: Kentucky (Feb. 11), Mississippi (Feb. 15) and #14 Vanderbilt (Feb. 25). Tennessee travels to Auburn (Feb. 8), #7 LSU (Feb. 19) and Arkansas (Feb. 22). Tennessee has an 8-0 record in SEC play and is being chased by Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss who sport 7-2 records and Georgia at 6-3 in SEC play. The 2007 SEC Tournament will be held Mar. 1-4 in Duluth, Ga.,
UT STOPS GEORGIA AGAIN
For the second time this season, Tennessee stopped the Georgia Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Vols' defense in the second meeting was extremely intense with junior Alexis Hornbuckle leading the way. In two games against UT this season, Georgia averaged just 49.0 ppg. Individually, Alexis Hornbuckle... Extended her streak of games with a steal to 59. She now has at least one steal in 80 of 87 career games. Against UGA2, she scored in double figures for the 11th time this season and the 43rd time in her career. With seven assists in the game, she moved into a tie for 16th place in the Lady Vol record books for career thefts (320); Candace Parker...
Scored in double figures for the 21st time this season and the 54th time of her career. Also, she earned her 12th double-double of the season and the 22nd of her career - moving her into a tie for sixth place in the UT record books for career double-doubles and reserve Alex Fuller...Scored in double figures for the sixth time this season

Wheaties® unveiled its newest Breakfast of Champions® box on Feb. 1, 2007, at halftime of the Tennessee-South Carolina game. The special-edition, 18-ounce Wheaties package, features the UT women's basketball program and coach Pat Summitt. The Tennessee package features an image of Thompson-Boling Arena, "The Summitt," a prominent school logo and Coach Summitt on the front of the package. The back of the package showcases an image of Summitt as well as the school mascot. "It is a great honor to be the first women's collegiate basketball coach to be featured on the front of a Wheaties box," said Summitt. "This makes a tremendous statement, not only for me, the Lady Vols and the University of Tennessee, but for women's basketball in general."
"The Tennessee women's basketball team has left a distinctive mark in the world of college basketball by showcasing unparalleled performance, a competitive drive, a sense of pride, and dedication over the years," said Dan Stangler, Wheaties brand manager.
Launched in 1924, Wheaties is the No. 1 whole-grain wheat flaked breakfast cereal in the country.
NOTCHED 20 VICTORIES
The Tennessee Lady Vols notched yet another 20-win season with the victory over South Carolina on Feb. 1, 2007. It marked the 31st consecutive time a Lady Vol team has reached at least 20 wins in a season under Coach Pat Summitt. When the Lady Vols picked up win #20 against South Carolina on Feb. 1, it marked the third fastest Summitt team to attain at least 20 wins. The 20 win seasons on the date they were achieved
NON-20-WIN SEASONS?
Tennessee's Pat Summitt has only had two teams fail to reach 20-win seasons during her 33-year tenure...In her first and second seasons (1974-75 and 1975-76) at UT, the Lady Vols were 16-8 and 16-11, respectively. Summitt's record of 20-win seasons is unmatched in collegiate basketball.
FAST START AGAINST USC
In picking up win number 20 on the season, the Tennessee Lady Vols got off to a fast start against South Carolina. The opening minutes were reminiscent of Duke's crushing start against UT on Jan. 22. Fortunately for the Lady Vols, UT was making the run on the Gamecocks opening the game 16-0 in the first 9:22. South Carolina did not score until 10:12 was left in the first half on a layup by Melanie Johnson. The Gamecocks' 11 first-half points were the fewest ever by an SEC opponent and tie for the fifth fewest ever by a UT foe. All 10 Lady Vols scored against USC. Individually, Alexis Hornbuckle... Extended her streak of games with a steal to 58. She now has at least one steal in 79 of 86 career games. Lex also moved into tenth place in the UT record books for career steals (229) and eclipsed the 800-point plateau for her career; Candace Parker...Earned her 11th double-double of the season and the 21st of her career, moving her into a tie for the eighth most by a Lady Vol in her career; Shannon Bobbitt...Scored in double figures for the second straight game; Alberta Auguste...Scored in double figures for the second straight game, her first back-to-back double digit performance as a Lady Vol and Sidney Spencer...Grabbed a career-high-tying nine rebounds
PARKER'S A FOUL MAGNET
Lady Vol sophomore All-American Candace Parker has been a foul magnet in 2006-07. With all of the double and triple-teaming she has seen this season, more than one-fourth of the opponent's 414 total fouls have been inflicted on her. In 23 games this season, Parker has drawn 128 fouls. In the game against Vanderbilt, she was fouled a dozen times by the Commodores (out of 22 total team fouls). Previously against Notre Dame, she was fouled 10 times by the Irish, eclipsing nine fouls whistled against players from Arizona State, Stanford and North Carolina. To date, Parker has visited the charity stripe 139 times this season - about six times a game. Against UConn, seven of the Huskies total of 13 fouls came while trying to stop Parker.
DOUBLED UP BAMA
Tennessee's victory at Alabama on Jan. 28 was the Lady Vols second win this season over the Crimson Tide. At 6-0, the Lady Vols are off to their best SEC start since the 2003-04 season. The win was Tennessee's 32nd consecutive over the Tide. UT's 29-point margin of victory was the largest on the road for the Lady Vols this season. Individually, Shannon Bobbitt...Scored a career-high 20 points and drained six three-pointers, which ties the second most in a game by a Lady Vol; Candace Parker...Scored her 1,000th career point during the 56th game of her career, making her the fastest Lady Vol in history to amass 1,000 tallies. Chamique Holdsclaw did so in 57 games. Parker is the 30th 1,000-point scorer at UT. Saw her streak of 33 consecutive games in double-digit scoring come to an end; Alexis Hornbuckle...Extended her streak of games with a steal to 57. She has at least one steal in 78 of 85 career games; Alberta Auguste... Sank a career-high three treys, and Alex Fuller...Tied SEC-career-high 12 points.
PARKER -- FASTEST TO 1,000
In Tennessee's game versus Alabama on Jan. 28, 2007, Lady Vol sophomore All-American Candace Parker scored her 1,000th career point during the 56th game of her career, making her the fastest Lady Vol in history to amass 1,000 points. Former Lady Vol All-Americans Chamique Holdsclaw did it in 57 games and Tamika Catchings in 58 games. Parker is the 30th 1,000-point scorer at Tennessee.
STILL...WORST REBOUNDERS
UT Coach Pat Summitt's teams have always been noted for tough defense and board play. Kudos to the 2006-07 team for tough defensive play thus far - holding the opposition to just 55.2 ppg. However, the current squad needs to hang their collective heads in shame for being the worst rebounding team in Lady Vol history. Currently at 37.5 rebounds per game, this team has dipped below the 2005-06 squad who earned the "worst" moniker last season managing just 39.4 rpg in 36 games - breaking a 28-year old record (1977-78 squad who managed just 39.7 rpg in 31 contests).

NO MUSICAL CHAIRS THIS SEASON
Tennessee Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt has utilized just three line-ups this season. She probably would have stayed with just one line-up (Candace Parker, Sidney Spencer, Nicky Anosike, Alexis Hornbuckle and Shannon Bobbitt) if junior college transfer Bobbitt hadn't missed the game at Louisiana Tech on Nov. 28 to take a test and Parker hadn't fallen ill prior to the Mississippi State game on Jan. 18. Rookie Cait McMahan started in place of Bobbitt for the La Tech game while Parker was replaced by Alex Fuller for the Miss. State contest. Using essentially one line-up is a far cry from previous seasons. Last year, Summitt employed seven different combinations with Candace Parker as the only common denominator in 36 games. In 2004-05, Summitt utilized 10 different looks with no player starting all 35 games. UT's line-up saw four different looks in 2003-04 with Shyra Ely and Ashley Robinson starting 35 games. In 2002-03, three starting line-ups were used as Gwen Jackson, Kara Lawson and Loree Moore were constants in the 38 game schedule.
PARKER RACING THROUGH THE RECORD BOOKS
Lady Vol sophomore All-American Candace Parker is rapidly racing through the Tennessee record books. Through 57 career games, the Naperville, Ill., native has recorded the following totals: 1,042 points, 498 rebounds and 148 blocks. When she reached the 1,000-point plateau, she became just the 30th Lady Vol ever to do so. Additionally, she is the fastest Pat Summitt-coached player to amass 1,000 tallies in just 56 games. Chamique Holdsclaw did so in 57 games and Tamika Catchings in 58.
LADY VOL STREAKS
The last time the Lady Vols lost at home was against Duke, 74-70, on Jan. 22, 2007, -- since then, UT has won two home games. The last time UT lost on the road was on Dec. 3, 2006 at UNC, since then, UT is 7-0 on the road. The last time the Lady Vols lost on a neutral court was against North Carolina, 75-63, in the NCAA Elite 8 game on Mar. 28, 2006. Since that time, UT has not played on a neutral court.
OVER 500 GAMES VS. RANKED
Tennessee's game versus #13 Georgia on Feb. 16, 2006 was the Lady Vols' 500th all-time versus a ranked team since the inception of the polls in 1976. UT is an amazing 378-147 (.700) versus ranked teams. This season, UT is 9-2 in ranked meetings. Last year, Tennessee was 13-3 versus ranked teams.
DOING BETTER IN THE SEC SLATE THIS SEASON
The Tennessee Lady Vols hope to turn in a better showing in the Southeastern Conference regular season slate in 2006-07. Currently, the Lady Vols lead the league with a 8-0 record at the halfway point. Last season, UT lost an uncharacteristic three games in the SEC - at Kentucky (66-63), at home to LSU (72-69) and Florida (95-93 OT). Eight points separated UT from a perfect 14-0 mark to a nine-season low 11-3 SEC record. In fact, from the 1997-98 season until the 2004-05 campaign, Tennessee lost a total of four SEC games in the regular season.
375TH WIN OVER A RANKED TEAM IN GAME VS. UCONN
Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt collected her 375th all-time win over a ranked team when #4-ranked Tennessee defeated #5-ranked Connecticut on Jan. 6. Summitt has a ridiculous 72 percent winning percentage in ranked games (378-147).
UT LEADS IN HOME ATTENDANCE
Tennessee, once again, leads the NCAA women's basketball attendance race. UT easily passed the 100,000 mark in home attendance before the new year with 19,092 versus Notre Dame. The current attendance standings: 1.Tennessee 13,754 (178,801/13), 2. Connecticut 11,263 (146,416/13), 3. Texas Tech 10,803 (108,026/10), 4.Oklahoma 9,978 (78,827/8) and 5. New Mexico 9,478 (104,253/11).
SUMMITT GETS 934TH WIN
While Texas Tech's Bobby Knight finally reached 880 wins on the men's side, Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt recorded her 934th victory with a 73-57 win over Georgia on Feb. 5 2007. Summitt recorded her 880th win, passing North Carolina's Dean Smith on Mar. 22, 2005 with a 75-54 victory over Purdue in the NCAA Tournament. Summitt has registered 54 wins since then. Summitt is a season and a half of wins ahead of Coach Knight.
TENNESSEE TOPS AP ALL-TIME

| 1. | Pat Summitt, TENNESSEE | 517 |
| (missed just 14 polls in entire AP history) |
| 2. | Andy Landers, Georgia | 409 |
| 3. | Jody Conradt, Texas | 395 |
| 4. | C.Vivian Stringer (Cheyney, Iowa, Rutgers) | 349 |

THOMPSON-BOLING ARENA
WELCOME TO "THE SUMMITT"
The playing court in the Thompson-Boling Arena on the University of Tennessee campus donned a new look for the 2005-06 season. After Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt passed Dean Smith for most NCAA collegiate basketball wins of all-time with a 75-54 win over Purdue on Mar. 22, 2005, UT named the TBA court, "The Summitt." The floor had a complete overhaul with permanent logos of both the Lady Vols and Vols painted directly in front of the scorer's table; the free throw lanes were painted orange with "SEC" reversed out; the giant jump circle/mid-court TENNESSEE was given a new brighter color scheme, and "The Summitt," Coach Summitt's actual signature adorns the sidelines opposite the team benches.
ON OUR WAY TO 300 WINS
Tennessee recorded its 200th win in Thompson-Boling Arena when the Lady Vols defeated the University of Southern California on Nov. 18, 2001, 106-66. UT has now amassed a 277-17 (.943) record since the Orange and White moved into the Thompson-Boling Arena to start the 1987-88 season 19-years ago. Along the way, the Lady Vols have produced nine flawless home records in 1988-89 (15-0), 1991-92 (14-0), 1992-93 (13-0), 1993-94 (15-0), 1994-95 (15-0), 1997-98 (16-0), 1998-99 (14-0), 2000-01 (15-0) and 2002-03 (16-0). UT also registered an NCAA record 69-game home court-winning streak from Feb. 1, 1991 thru Jan. 2, 1996.
JUST 17 LOSSES
The Tennessee Lady Vols rarely lose at home. In fact, since moving to the Thompson-Boling Arena for the 1987-88 campaign, UT has lost two games in one season just six times. UT lost two games in TBA during the inaugural 1987-88 campaign, 1996-97, 1999-00, 2001-02, 2003-04 and the 2005-06 seasons. The 17 all-time losses at Thompson-Boling Arena have come at the hands of just nine teams: Florida (2006), LSU (2006), Duke (2004 and 2007), Connecticut (2004, 2002, 2000, 1996), Louisiana Tech (1999, 1989), Georgia (1996, 1991), Texas (2003, 2002, 1987), Stanford (1996) and Auburn (1988).
HOME SWEET HOME --
400th HOME WINS
The victory over Georgia on Jan. 31, 2005, was the Lady Vols 400th home win since Pat Summitt took over as head coach in 1974. Summitt has won 91.4 percent of all home games in 33 years producing a 429-41 overall record. Home losses (in the Summitt era) include: six in Alumni Gym from 1974-76; 18 in Stokely Athletics Center from 1976-87; and 17 in Thompson-Boling Arena since 1987.
LAST LOSS TO AN UNRANKED TEAM?
Florida became the second unranked team in the 2005-06 season to knock off the Lady Vols, when they won 95-93 OT on Feb. 26, 2006. Exactly one month earlier, unranked Kentucky turned the trick with a 66-63 win over #1/3-ranked Tennessee on Jan. 26, 2006 at Rupp Arena. Previously, it had been four years since an unranked team upset the Lady Vols. So before Florida and Kentucky had their way with UT, when was the last time Tennessee lost to an unranked team? That would have been to LSU on Mar. 2, 2002 at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. LSU had been in and out of the Top 25 polls in late January and February. Prior to that, UT's last loss to an unranked team was five years previous (to the day) losing to Auburn on Mar. 2, 1997 at the SEC Tournament.
100 POINT GAMES
Since 1974, the Lady Vols have gone over the century mark 72 times. Last season, UT eclipsed 100 points in two games - Princeton, 107 and #16/18 Texas, 102. The 1987-88 team hit triple digits in seven games to lead the NCAA.
IN OVERTIME
The Lady Vols are 24-13 all-time in overtime games. The most OT games in a year was tied in 2003-04 with four as the Lady Vols went 3-1 in overtime losing to Georgia, 68-66, and defeating Auburn, 68-61, DePaul, 96-89, and Stanford, 70-66. It tied the mark set in 1996-97, when the Lady Vols were 3-1 in overtime contests losing to Georgia, 94-93, and defeating Texas, 68-65, Vanderbilt, 92-79 and LSU, 100-99. UT's 22 points in the OT against Florida (2-3-05), was the most ever scored by the Lady Vols in a single overtime. UT's most recent OT affair was a 95-93 loss to Florida on 2-26-06.
