The win today...

Improves UT to 28-2 on the season, giving the Lady Vols at least 28 wins in a season for the 17th time in a row and the 23rd time in Pat Summitt's 33-year career.
Gives Pat Summitt a career record of 941-179
Gives UT a 23-4 record all-time in the second round of the SEC Tournament
Gives UT 34 straight victories in the series with the Gamecocks and a 38-2 overall record in the matchup.
Gives UT a 55-15 record all-time in SEC Tournament games, including a 2-0 clip against South Carolina.

Notes...

At halftime, South Carolina had 28 points, just eight less than they had at the end of the game against UT earlier this season on Feb. 1.
For the second game in a row, UT scored 40 points by halftime.

Became the 31st Lady Vol in school history to reach 1,000 points for her career on her driving layup with 18:32 left in the game.
Moved into seventh place in the UT single-season record books for three-pointers (56)
Scored her most points of the season since a career-high 26 at Vanderbilt on Jan. 25. Her 22 points were an SEC Tournament career high.

SEC Tornament Tennessee Notes

Tennessee is the first team in the 2007 SEC Tournament to never trail in a game.
The Lady Vols began the game on a 5-0 run and never led by fewer than three points after that point.
Tennessee's 81 points marks the most points scored by a team thus far in the 2007 SEC Tournament.
With today's win, Tennessee advances to the SEC Tournament Semifinals for the 14th consecutive year.
Tennessee is currently on an 11-game winning streak, dating back to the Jan. 22 loss to #1 Duke.
With 10 points and 11 rebounds, sophomore Candace Parker recorded her 18 double-double of the season and the 28th of her career.
Parker's 10 points put her in double figures in that category for the 28th time this season and the 61st time in her career at Tennessee. Her 11 rebounds marked the 18th game this season that she has been in double figures in that category, and the 30th time in her career
Junior Alexis Hornbuckle recorded a steal, marking the 29th (out of 30) game this season in which she has recorded at least one steal.
Hornbuckle's 17 points marks a new career high for the junior in SEC Tournament play.
Senior Sidney Spencer's 22 points is the highest total for her since a 26-point performance against Vanderbilt on Jan. 25. It also marks a career high for her in SEC Tournament play, topping her 21 points in the 2006 Final against LSU.
