National/International
Decorated member of several USA Basketball teams... In the summer of 2011, won a gold medal at the 2011 USA Basketball U19 World Championships in Puerto Montt, Chile...Along with UT teammate Ariel Massengale, the USA went 8-1 as Burdick chipped in 5.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg in 14.2 mpg...Also won gold medals at both the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship, 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship...The USA U17 World Championship Team posted a perfect 8-0 record in the inaugural FIBA U17 World Championship as she averaged 7.6 ppg and 4.8 rpg...Helped the U.S. earn a 2-1 record to capture a pre-U17 World Championship tournament title in Spain against U17 national teams from Australia, Canada and Spain....As a member of the 2009 USA U16 National Team, she averaged 6.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.6 apg and 1.6 spg in 16.6 mpg to help the USA capture a 5-0 record...On the AAU circuit, she played for Boo Williams in 2010; Team Unique from 2007-2009; Carolina Comets in 2003 and 2004, and the Queen City Jewells in 2002, 2005 and 2006.
Personal
Cierra is considering a major in communications... Would like to pursue a career in broadcast journalism... Wears uniform number 11 because she's "tall and lanky like two ones"... Says the most impressive person ever met: her mom, because "she's the strongest person I know and there isn't an obstacle she hasn't overcome"... Began her basketball career by going to the YMCA across the street from her apartment every Saturday to play in the youth league... A gifted student, she earned a weighted 4.28 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society...Active in her community, she served as lead counselor for her school's basketball camp and volunteered with several charities, including the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation...
