POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT & ADVERTISEMENT

The University of Tennessee now invites applications for the following position(s).

POSITION: - Assistant Women's Strength and Conditioning Coaches (2 Positions available)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience designing and implementing program at a NCAA Division I level preferred
  • Management experience with student assistants and/or interns preferred
  • Strong background training female athletes preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include educating the student-athletes on proper lifting techniques. Must be able to design and implement sound, sports specific programs for Olympic sports. Candidate must have ability to motivate student-athletes. Ability to conduct preseason and postseason testing. Willing to perform administrative duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Must be able to track student-athlete progress. Ability to teach and present on various strength and conditioning topics for a class, clinic, and/or camp. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the university, Southeastern Conference, and the NCAA. Professional attributes needed for position include great communication skills with administrators, sport coaches, sports medicine staff, athletes, and other strength coaches. Solid organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities are a must.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Type of Appointment: Full-time (staff exempt)

POSITION: - Assistant Women's Rowing Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred
  • Coaching Experience required in Rowing
  • NCAA Division I Coaching or Rowing experience; or National Team rowing experience preferred
  • Strong Organizational Skills preferred
  • Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations preferred
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the head coach in all aspects of managing and coaching a high caliber Division I Rowing Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting and eligibility, administration, instruction and student-athlete development. Must be committed to developing a top Division I program, and conducting the program in accordance with the philosophy of the University of Tennessee Athletic Department. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the rowing program, the University, Southeastern Conference, and the NCAA.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
