Alumni Athletic Trainers:

Dear Alumni,

The Lady Vol Athletic Training Room is a frenzy of excitement and energy as the new school year begins. The athletic training staff has been hard at work helping assist the student-athletes as they gear up for their competitive seasons. Every sport is preparing to compete at their highest level for success in the SEC and NCAA. To better support the student-athletes in their preparation for competition, the sports medicine program has made some improvements.

A new addition to the staff and an aid in the holistic health care approach for athletes is Brian Lehmann. Brian is a registered dietitian and recently received a board certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics. He joins Kristen Martin, LCSW, the director Team ENHANCE, in a newly renovated office in Stokely Athletic Center. The office environment allows for private one-on-one meetings as well as a waiting area and space for group meetings.

The Lady Vol staff continues to be recognized for numerous accomplishments. Team ENHANCE was spotlighted in two articles in the USA Today and also on CNN's the Paula Zahn Now Show. The NCAA News has referred to the Lady Vol Athletic Training and the University of Tennessee as a group that continues to raise the bar and set an example . Jenny Moshak, Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer for Women's Basketball has been sought out for her expertise and was featured by local television networks.

The reputation and recognition of the Lady Vol Athletic Training Department is a direct result of the staff's hard work, dedication and support. Our donor wall, which was created to honor those who have invested in our facility and services, continues to grow. The "Wall of Champions" has four levels of contributions which are tax deductible and count as University gift credit:

  • Bronze $1-99
  • Silver $100-4,999
  • Gold $5,000-14,999
  • Platinum $15,000 and above

If you are interested in joining the many others who have already donated, this can be your way of giving and directly supporting Lady Vol Athletic Training. Please make your check payable to UT Women's Athletics, and write Athletic Training Room Development Fund (ATRD) on the memo line. Send your contribution to:

Jenny Moshak, ATC
Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine
117 Stokley Athletics Center
Knoxville, TN 37996

If you would like to help current and future student athletic trainers pursue their career goals you may designate your gift to be added to the student athletic training scholarship fund. We appreciate your support and glad you are investing in the future of Lady Vol Athletic Training.

We hope this gives you a little insight into what is going on in the Lady Vol Athletic Training world. This newsletter will be produced annually in order for you to stay updated with news about your "old stomping grounds." If you have not seen the new athletic training room and are ever in the area, please feel free to stop by and take a look at all of the improvements. You can also see the current staff or take a virtual tour on the Lady Vol home page under sports medicine (/ot/sportsmed.html).

Sincerely,

Lady Vol Athletic Training Staff
