Sport Psychology Consultant

Dr. Craig Wrisberg is a Professor of Sport Psychology in the Department of Exercise, Sport, and Leisure Studies. Since 1983, he has provided performance consulting for both the Men's and Women's Athletics Departments. Most of his work is with the sports of football, tennis and track although at one time or another he has worked with athletes in every UT sport. Dr. Wrisberg also oversees the academic programs of graduate students in Sport Psychology and provides support for the UT Mental Training Center under the direction of Dr. Joe Whitney. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Dr. Wrisberg has four advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Motor Behavior and M.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan. He is a Past President of both the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity. In 1993, he was awarded Certified Consultant status by AASP.
