Rick Starratt was promoted to the Director of Internet Communications in September 2004 after working as the assistant since 2001. Starratt oversees all the content and design for the web sites for both the men's and women's athletic departments. Starratt returned to UT in 2001 after spending two and a half years at Total Sports in Raleigh, N.C., where he worked as the Live Event Operations Manager. Previously, Starratt served as a graduate assistant for the Lady Vols, creating and maintaining the award-winning Lady Vol Web site from 1996-98. In 1998, he was hired full-time as the department's first Web master before departing later in the year. The Norton, Mass., native received a bachelor's degree in English literature and creative writing from Wheaton (Mass.) College in May 1996. He completed his work on a master's degree in sport administration at UT in May 1998. Starratt and his wife, Laura, were married in April 2003 and live in Knoxville. |
