Catherine Johnson is in her 12th year as assistant athletic trainer. She continues her responsibilities as the home-based athletic trainer, overseeing the golf team and assisting other staff members with sport coverage and injury rehabilitation. Her other duties include administrative responsibilities and post-season event coverage. She has been a member of the staff at Tennessee since 1994, serving as a graduate assistant and intern assistant. Johnson graduated from Guilford College in 1994 with a degree in sports medicine, received her master's degree in sports psychology from UT in 1997 and became a licensed massage therapist in 1999. The Thomasville, N.C., native resides in Louisville, Tenn., with her husband, Tyler, and their daughter, Mara.
