Your Program

  • Open to boys and girls ages 8 thru 19.

  • Strictly supervised campus dormitories for girls and boys, The dormitories, this summer, at Mercersburg and the University of Tennessee are air-conditioned.

  • Indoor modern swimming facilities at the University of Tennessee.

  • All-You-Can-Eat training table meals in modern dining hall.

  • Limited enrollment {9:1 swimmer/coach ratio) so that coaches get to know each swimmer's needs.

  • Discussions and sessions in mental training, nutrition, weight training, aerobics and special topics as prepared by our coaches.

  • Emphasis on mental training, visualization, imagery work and positive self-programming.

  • Daily video taping of every swimmer with subsequent analysis by our coaches. We film all strokes and turns.

  • A personal log book filled with schedule, exercise programs, weight training information, stroke drills, nutrition, outline, etc. This provides swimmers with a written record of their stay.

  • Special Events every evening. Some in past years have been: soccer games, mini-concerts, movies and relaxing talks with coaches. We still do many of the same and others again.

  • A personal critique booklet pointing out areas in technique on which a swimmer should work. Many of the terms will be defined so that parents, too, can become more familiar with our analysis.

  • Medical Services available in the event of illness or injury. Should anyone require special medical attention during a clinic stay {such as allergy shots), please notify John Trembley in writing well in advance. It should be noted: all participants must have medical/health care insurance.

  • A SALUTE TO FORMER CLINIC SWIMMERS!

We thank the many swimmers who have supported their clinic, the finest total swimming clinic of its type in the country. We are the finest not so much because of what we do, but rather, because of what the swimmers do. Their dedication to excellence, curiosity and technique have made them better swimmers and have made us a better clinic. We thank the parents, who, through their welcome suggestions, have helped us better meet the needs of both swimmers and family.

Our primary aim is to provide a program that allows swimmers to have fun while learning the most advanced techniques anyone in swimming can offer: We are equally concerned about offering our swimmers "strict supervision" as we will do at Mercersburg, Blair and the University of Tennessee.

Our philosophy is simple. We are not concerned with having swimmers spend time with us only to swim yardage. We are, by acclamation of referrals, the most sought after summer swimming TECHNIQUE clinic in the country. Improvements in starting, turning and swimming technique skill level is our aim. Realizing this aim, we understand that swimmers must enjoy the commitment to their sport and accordingly offer an experience that is FUN and educational in technique areas.

Most importantly, we look forward to helping every swimmer who attends U.S.C. feel confident and happy with himself/herself. We will work hard, learn a great deal, improve and have fun being together: Hope to see you this summer!
