The M.C. James Driving Range, opened in the fall of 1985, provides Vols golfers with one of the top practice facilities in college golf.
The range, located off campus, is named in honor of former Vols golf captain and U.S.G.A. Committeeman, M.C. James Jr.
The range features four bermuda tees and three target greens. The facility also has a 15,000-square-foot bentgrass green with a sand trap to sharpen the players' short game
Additionally, a two-tiered bermuda pitching green with a sand trap has been added which allows team members to practice any conceivable pitch or chip shot that may arise in tournament play.
In the event of inclement weather, an overhang is located on the back of the range building allowing players to work on their games under any conditions.
All facilities and facilities projects at the University of Tennessee are supported by donations to the Tennessee Fund and season tickets.
